The Gîte des Silves is located at an altitude of 1.385 m, just under the Montagne de la Blanche whose highest visible summit (Rocheclose) reaches 2.739 m. An abundant wildlife and impressive panoramic views are some of the characteristics of this mountain belt. Most of the summits can be reached by hiking, some directly from the house.
The Massif des Monges is lower (the highest point is at 2.115 m) but the mountain flora is especially diversified. The easiest way is to drive to Barles (30 minutes driving) and to start hiking from there.
